Larry Wayne McNeil

Larry Wayne McNeil, age 57, a resident of Highland Home, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Harrison Funeral Home with Dennis Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

A visitation was held Friday vening January 4, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by: wife, Anita White McNeil of Highland Home; daughters, Samantha (John) Hoffman and Kayla Kelley, both of Highland Home; mother, Voncile Gandy of Greenville; sisters, Diana Browder and JoAnne Wiggins, both of McKenzie, and Faye Boswell of Chapman; brothers, Bobby Gandy and Danny Gandy, both of Greenville and one grandson, John Tyler Hoffman of Highland Home.

William Edwin Whiddon

William Edwin "Ed" Whiddon, 82, a resident of Rutledge, died December 30, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008 from the Chapel Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Moses, the Rev. Mike Moses and the Rev. Joe Bradford officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Whiddon will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the services.

Whiddon is survived by his wife, Mary Whiddon of Rutledge; son, Chuck (Shirley) Whiddon of Honoraville; stepdaughter, Donna (Dennis) Szeszulski of Marietta, Ga.; sisters, Frances Adams of Greenville, Floyce Owen of Montgomery and Joyce Pierce of Montgomery; brothers, Riley Whiddon and Wilson Whiddon, both of Honoraville; two grandchildren, Christopher Whiddon and Stacey Whiddon; two step-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
