Shirley Ann McGough Thomas

 

Shirley Ann McGough Thomas, 76, a resident of Lapine, passed away on Sunday, August 14.  Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Minister Dean Kelly officiating.  Interment followed in Cool Springs Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.  Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Viola Thomas McGough; two sisters, Alma Ruth McGough Lowery and Mary Jewel McGough Anseman; and four brothers, L.J. McGough, Hubert McGough, Pruitt McGough and Ernest McGough.  She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Harris (Johnny) Lamberth and Tammy Harris Barganier; two grandchildren, Brittany Smith (Eddie) Faulk and John Keith (Tabatha) Lamberth; three great-grandchildren, Hagan Lamberth, Tatum Lamberth and Brody Faulk; two sisters, Joyce McGough Faulk and Jackie McGough (Larry) Hartin; and two brothers, Allen McGough and Roland McGough.  Active pallbearers were Keith Lamberth, Eddie Faulk, Donnie McGough, Johnny McGough, Tommy Norris and Gerald Kelley. Ronald Posey served as an honorary pallbearer.

Peggy Sue Hurley

 

Peggy Sue Hurley, 61, a resident of Goshen, Alabama, passed away on Monday, August 15.  Funeral services for Peggy were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating.  Interment followed in Hopewell Cemetery in Goshen with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.  Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Travis Williams; mother, Doris Williams Lewis; stepfather, R.J. Lewis; three brothers; and four sisters.  She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joseph Lamar Hurley, Sr.; four children, Joseph Lamar (Renee) Hurley, Jr., Melissa Lynn Hurley, Jason Daniel Hurley and Amanda Hurley (Randy) Miles; six grandchildren, Jessica Hurley, Brittany Hurley, Kaitlyn Hurley, Destiny Rhodes, Joelie Morse and John Maison Hurley; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen Richardson and Debra (Joey) Warrick; and brother, Danny (Gina) Lewis.  Active pallbearers were Alan Coggins, Drake Sanders, J.W. Golden, Mike Jones, Jason Miles and Jim Shaver. Lewis Sanders and Randy Miles served as honorary pallbearers.

 

William Daniel “Danny” Bush

 

William Daniel “Danny” Bush, 72, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, August 16.  Funeral services for Mr. Bush will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 19, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sardis with President Hendrix officiating.  Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.  Mr. Bush was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Beasley Bush; father, William Bush; mother, Odell Maddox; three sisters, Faye Johnson, Cassie Sanders and Euceta Wyrosdick; and five brothers, Donnie Maddox, Cecil Bush, Marvin Bush, John L. Bush and Ben Bush.  He is survived by three children, Donna (Allen) Young, Donald Bush and Deanna (Trent) McDaniel; six grandchildren, Dallas Young, Dusty Young, Daniel Bush, Dillon Bush, Madison McDaniel and Dawson McDaniel; and sister, Glenda (Doug) Holmes.  His grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 9:30 – 11 a.m.
