LHS Class of '59 holds reunion

The Luverne High School Class of 1959 met for their 50th reunion Saturday, July 18, at the Luverne Country Club.

Each classmate was presented with a name tag that hung around their neck depicting each one’s senior photo beside an LHS tiger. There was much hugging and reminiscing as everyone tried to catch up on 50 years in just a few hours that seemed to fly by.

The deceased members of the class were recognized by a photo collage of each member’s senior picture, and a moment of silence was held in their honor prior to the blessing. These included John Murry, Raymond Davis, Buster Nichols, Mary Petrie Kendrick Morgan, Peggy Rhodes Tisdale, Sandra Shirley Lacy, Jerry Mason, Joe Vickery, Larry Williams, Larry Gibson and Herbert Rhodes.

All classmates enjoyed talking about their high school days and looking at old photos that were brought by several classmates. Several memory tables were on hand for everyone’s enjoyment. The classmates who decorated and provided the 50s music did an excellent job.

Mrs. Helen Williams and Coach Glenn Daniel honored the classmates with their presence and enjoyed talking about the old days.
