Shriners' begin Peanut Boil

Published Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Crenshaw County Shrine Club members Vern Flowers, left, and Andy Compton unload some of the 14 tons of peanuts early Wednesday morning that President Shelton Morrell and Vice-President Chuck Gorey picked up from Jay, Fla., on Tuesday.

The Shriners have already begun boiling and selling their world famous boiled peanuts at the Peanut Shack, located at the intersection of Hwy. 331 and Hwy. 10, directly across from Hook’s BBQ.

Large bags are $6 and small bags are $3.

The Shriners will be selling boiled peanuts throughout the Labor Day weekend.
