Luverne School students released red and white balloons Friday as part of "Red Ribbon Week."

Up, up, and away!

Published Friday, October 30, 2009

Crenshaw County Schools declared the week of Oct. 26-30 as Red Ribbon Week.

This year's drug-free motto was "I Pledge to be Drug Free!"

Each year, the National Guard donates red ribbons for the students to wear throughout the week.

On Friday, Oct. 30, Luverne School and Brantley School ended the week with their annual "Be Drug Free" balloon release on the football fields.

Highland Home School held its balloon release on Oct. 23.

Students from grades K-4 through 6th grade participated in the annual balloon release.
