Drivers raise over $500 for family
Published Tuesday, June 30, 2009
Drivers at the Avenger Motor Speedway were able to raise over $500 from race supporters this weekend to give to a family who lost their home to a fire earlier this month.
Drivers Jared Watson, James Thagard, and Randy Adams took their helmets into pit row and into the stands and collected $556.14 for the Odom family, said racetrack spokesperson NASCAR Ron. The family’s home on S. Pine Street, and much of their belongings, burned during an afternoon fire on June 11.
