Amazing feat earns Greenville golfer national attention

Published Tuesday, June 30, 2009

A Greenville golfer’s amazing feat of three aces in a span of 18 days has gone national.

Ricky Langston hit three holes-in-one in June at the Greenville Country Club, according to the Associated Press, which was picked up and published on www.usatoday.com Tuesday afternoon. Langston told the AP and Montgomery Advertiser’s Mike Tankersley that thinking about the feat had meant many “sleepless nights.”

“Some nights I’ll just lay in bed and can’t go to sleep,” Langston told the AP. “I’ll be thinking about the odds of this kind of thing happening.”

Attempts by The Advocate to reach Langston, who works at Middleton Oil Company, on Tuesday were unsuccessful.

The AP reported Langston hit the first of the three aces on June 3, a 142-yard shot. He followed that up with a 165-yard shot on June 11, and a 155-yarder on June 20.

The shots came on the No. 8, No. 4, and No. 6 holes, respectively. - From Staff Reports
