Four students from Butler County were part of the recent class of EMT Basic Course graduates in Monroeville.

18 Complete EMT Course

Eighteen students completed an EMT-Basic Course on Dec. 30 in Monroeville. The course, given through the Alabama Fire College, began Sept. 14 and was taught at Alabama Southern Community College in Monroeville. Students in the class include, pictured from left, seated, Lesley Parden of Grove Hill, Shirley Thigpen of Thomasville, Celeste Smith of Butler, Sharron Harris of Butler, Instructor Butch Cobb of Evergreen, Denise Ryder of Excel, Irish Thames of Tunnel Springs, Mallory Holder of Evergreen and Lee Peacock of Excel; standing, Michael Sipper of Georgiana, Chris Courtney of Campbell, Denny Baynham of Linden, James Pearson of Camden, Blakely Ward of Georgiana, Mark Favela of Demopolis, P.J. Pongerayter of Camden, Virgil Acreman of Greenville and Gary Haskew of Greenville. Not pictured, Robert Galbraith of Jackson. Cobb, a veteran paramedic, is Conecuh County Coroner and also manages Simmons Ambulance Service in Monroeville.
