Foster installed as AASB pres.-elect

Lowndes County school board member and Greenville businessman Steven T. Foster has been installed as president-elect for the Alabama Association of School Boards. Foster will assume the presidency when President Florence Bellamy of Phenix City completes her term in December 2011.

Foster is an agent with Norman Insurance Co. of Greenville. He and his wife, Nancy, have two children, Rebecca and Travis, and they live in Fort Deposit where they attend the Fort Deposit Church of Christ. He is a graduate of the Alabama Banking School at the University of South Alabama, and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Auburn University-Montgomery. Foster has been a member of the Lowndes County Board of Education since 1992 and has served as its vice-president and president. He has also worked with Gov. Bob Riley's Black Belt Action Commission and as a member of the Lowndes County Democratic Executive Committee and Fort Deposit Chamber of Commerce.
