The ATM and awning at BB&T Bank was damaged by a thief on a stolen forklift in the early hours of Friday morning.

BB&T Bank was damaged at 4:15 a.m. Friday morning by a piece of heavy machinery in an apparent attempt to get money from an ATM, according to a release from Greenville police spokesman Lt. Anthony Barganier.

A forklift, known as a Lull, was stolen from the parking lot at Butler County Bank and driven down the bypass to BB&T Bank, where it was used to damage an ATM and drive-through awning.
Greenville Police Officers responded within minutes, and their quick response likely prevented the suspect (or suspects) from taking the ATM, Barganier said.
The bank was conducting an inventory Friday to determine if any money was stolen.
The case is still under investigation, and anyone with any information is asked to call the G.P.D. Investigations Division at 382-7461.

If it was American currency that these robbers were after , maybe they should have looked at the dollar's real value before trying to pull off this job. Gold is what most currency is based on and gold is well above 1100 dollars per oz. (it started out at 20 dollars per oz.) So how much money could have been in that atm machine?? One dollar is worth about 55 times less right now (1.8 cents) but as long as the American people don't know this then it just don't matter. Ignorance has gotten folks in more trouble than this before. I always heard that dogs were man's best friend but I guess that changed when the economy went bad.

DarrylDavis, Since you don't ever have anything good to say about Americans, why don't you just move to another country and see how you like it there. The information you put out most of the time is useless. People are well aware of the price of gold so your information is useless. You are always trying to make like you are intelligent but you really come out as being very ignorant. If you are trying to impress others with your intelligence, you are failing miserably. Why don't you take a good look at yourself and try to find some thing nice to say about others. You must be very miserable with yourself so you try to make other people look dumb. It's not working so way don't you just give it up.
