The McKenzie Tigers may have a fight on their hands this Friday night when they travel to Excel to take on the Panthers.

“They’re a real good team,” said head coach Miles Brown. “They picked up some skill kids when they closed Frisco City, so they’ve got some quality too. Their linemen are big, and they’re well-coached and well-disciplined.”

Brown said his team will spend the week heading up to the game ironing out the kinks and working on offense, defense and special teams.

The road to recovery is also coming along well for quarterback Calvin Henderson.

“They say that he should be able to start jogging next week, but we’ll have to wait and see,” Brown said.

Kickoff for Friday night’s game will be at 7 p.m. in Excel.
