Lee named Georgiana Parks and Recreation Department Director

Georgiana residents have a familiar face in the position of Parks and Recreation Director after Johnny Lee accepted the position earlier this week.
The position isn’t a new one for Lee — he served as Parks and Rec director several years ago.
“I’m glad to be back and be able to help the community,” he said.
In addition to serving on the Board of Education and being involved with Butler County Magnet School, Lee also has over 21 combined years of experience in the parks and recreation system, whether it’s serving as director or coaching teams.
First up on Lee’s priority list is youth football.
Registration is open for the youth football and cheerleaders, and the first game is set for Aug. 29.
“We’re moving to the Tri-County football league this year, and that’s the same one that the YMCA is in,” Lee said. “We’re having our first practice this week.”
There is also a plan to have a midget league team for younger kids.
