Georgiana have, for the 3rd straight season, advanced to the Final Four tournament in Birmingham.

The team, led by the seemingly unstoppable scoring power of senior Ja’Michael Stallworth, hold a 29-3 record.

The regional tournament was not entirely a cake-walk for the Panthers- in the 2nd round, they were forced to mount an aggressive 4th quarter comeback against Houston County.

Against Linden, however, Georgiana were firing on all cylinders.

Stallworth led the offense with 28 points, a relatively restrained night considering he set a school scoring record recently, putting up 55 points in an overtime win.

Only 15 of 55 shots landed for Linden, while Georgiana relentlessly scored and pushed the momentum further in their favor.

Stallworth received regional MVP after the tournament, while teammates Christian Williams, Martavius Payton, and Lecedric Haynes were named to the All-Tournament team.

Georgiana will face R.A. Hubbard, from Courtland, Ala., in the semi-finals of the Final Four. Panther head coach Kirk Norris said he expects R.A. Hubbard to “match up pretty well against [the Panthers],” and that the game will likely be a “battle.”

Norris said Georgiana are “working on ourselves… watching film, seeing what [R.A. Hubbard] do, seeing how they defend.”

“[My team] always play hard, every night, no matter the score,” Norris said, “and they know what’s at stake at this point…. the ultimate goal is to win a state championship.”

On the other side of the bracket, Sacred Heart- who have previously stopped Georgiana’s championship ambitions- will face Cornerstone.
