The Butler County Humane Society is seeking out those willing to “Open Your Heart to Homeless Animals.”

The non-profit group has kicked off a brand-new online T-shirt campaign. According to BCHS president Herbert Morton, the animal welfare organization hopes to raise both awareness and funds with the T-shirts.

“We had a successful venture last spring with Booster.com, selling 41 T-shirts online and raising almost $400 for our organization,” said Morton. “This year our goal is 50 shirts sold.”

The sky blue unisex tee is Gildan’s 100 percent preshrunk cotton and available in adult sizes small through 4XL.

The back of the shirt lists a number of ways local citizens can be friends to homeless animals.

Each shirt sells for $20. Orders can be shipped directly to the donors’ homes for a small additional fee or picked up by arrangement with Morton. The shirts will ship approximately two to three weeks after the March 4 cutoff.

“We need to sell at least 12 shirts to make this viable; of course, both the BCHS and all our furry friends hope we sell many more,” said Morton. “We are also taking monetary donations along with T-shirt orders at the website.”
