She will also help expand the Greenville Advocate’s use of social media and will cover local education topics.

Hyatt recently completed an internship with the Advocate, during which time she worked in the newspaper’s editorial department.

“We’re excited about having Beth join our team on a full-time basis,” said Andy Brown, managing editor of Greenville Newspapers, LLC. “She’s done a terrific job as an intern, and we know that she will continue to be an asset not only to our newspapers, but also to our community.”

Hyatt, who received her master’s degree in strategic communications from Troy University earlier this month, said she’s excited to begin this new chapter of her life.

“I am so thankful for this opportunity,” she said. “I am proud to be a member of this staff, and I am eager to see what all I will be able to accomplish.”
