The Greenville-Butler County Public Library is inviting everyone to come out and celebrate a “galaxy far, far away” on its 4th Annual Star Wars Day Saturday.

“It’s just really become a fun way for us to end our summer activities here at the library,” said Director Kevin Pearcey. “We always have a good turnout and hope this year is the same.”

A variety of activities are planned, including LEGO building and coloring contests, plus the library’s popular “Star Wars BINGO.”

“We have lots of prizes to give away and, of course, we’ll be spotlighting our Star Wars collection of books and movies that will be available for check out,” said Pearcey.

Star Wars snacks will be provided in the Children’s Theatre at 11:30 a.m. Additionally, those who attend will be able to vote on which Star Wars film they wish to watch while enjoying such galactic goodies like “Yoda Soda” and “Wookie Cookies.”

Star Wars Day caps off what has been an eventful two months, said Pearcey, with nearly 600 children and parents participating in a summer library program.
