Mrs. Elgie Lee Gunter Mason, 94, a resident of Luverne, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home, with Dr. Clyde M. Northrop officiating. Interment followed in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her husband, Alton A. Mason; son, Jerry G. Mason; grandson, Steve Mason; daughter-in-law, Barbara Bush Mason; parents, Lodic H. and Annie Laura Dodie Gunter; six sisters, Lila Gunter, Mollie Tadlock, Willa Bell Murphy, Florence Copeland, Thelma Norton and Inez Northrop; and three brothers, Quincy Gunter, Felder Gunter and Julian Gunter.

She is survived by three children, Suzette (Ken) Helms, Jimmy (Reba) Mason and Tony (Jenny) Mason; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Her grandsons served as active pallbearers.

The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, the Luverne Emmaus Cemetery Fund, or one’s favorite charity.
