The Greenville-Butler County Public Library will host its annual book sale Friday and Saturday.

The library will offer a “Special Preview Sale” on Friday at 5 p.m. for those readers who want early pick of the books. Admission is $5.

Kevin Pearcey, library director, said the book sale wouldn’t be possible without the donations of people in Greenville and Butler County. While a small number of the books are library discards, the majority of the stock is made up of books given to the library.

“We accept donations of books throughout the year and by the time the book sale rolls around we have thousands of titles, both fiction and non-fiction, to choose from,” said Pearcey. “So we really must thank the generosity of the people of our community for this book sale.”

The sale on Saturday will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no cost for admission on Saturday, said Pearcey.

Hardback books will cost $1. Paperbacks will be .50 cents. An assortment of CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes and other materials will also be on sale.

Pearcey said due to the large volume of materials this year, it’s likely the book sale will continue into next week.
