“Come out and run or walk and help support a child in our community that needs your support,” said Nimmer.

Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. in the park and the race starts at 8:30 a.m.

The event, themed to “Superheroes Unite,” is one of the many fundraiser events hosted by Healthy Kids to help prevent abuse and neglect in the life of a child.

Nimmer encourages teams of four or more to come out and participate in the event. Superhero costumes are encouraged.

“We hope individuals, businesses and organizations will register as a team,” Nimmer said.

“We invite everyone to unite with us, and be a superhero for kids.  Help us boost our children and our community to the top. With the valued support of businesses and individuals, children in our community will win. Anything that allows us to come together as a team to join the fight against child abuse and neglect is something that we as a community should join forces in doing.”

Following the race there will be entertainment in the park.

Pre-registration is $25. Registration the day of the event will be $30. Runners can register online at active.com.
