Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Cullen, of The Villages, Fla. announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Leigh Cullen, to Houston Floyd Lester, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Lester, of Luverne.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John L. Cullen of Dearbon Heights, Mich. and Mrs. Ray Dwyer and the late Mr. Ray Dwyer of Owosso, Mich.

Dr. Cullen is a 2001 graduate of Hartland High School (Harland, Mich.) and attended the University of Toronto (Canada), gaining a Honors bachelor of science (with high distinction in 2005) dual-major in psychology and commerce.

While at the University of Toronto, she played basketball. She received her master of science in 2007 and her Ph.D. in 2011 in industrial/organizational psychology.

Dr. Cullen is currently a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Creative Leadership, a global provider of leadership education and research, with headquarters located in Greensboro, N.C.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Betty Holley of Luverne, and the late Mr. C.P. Floyd, Jr. of Atmore, and Mrs. Lincoln Lester and the late Mr. Lincoln Lester of Glenwood.

Mr. Lester is a 2003 graduate of Luverne High School and graduated summa cum laude from Huntingdon College with a Bachelor of Science in psychology.

While at Huntingdon College, he played football and ranked first in the graduating class of 2007. He also received a master of science in 2010 from Auburn University in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

He currently serves as a Quantitative Consultant at the University of Nebraska Evaluation and Research Center while completing his Ph.D. in Quantitative, Qualitative and Psychometric Methods at the University of Nebraska.

The wedding will take place May 16, 2015, in Lawrenceville, Ga.
