Hilda Cauthen

 

Hilda Cauthen, 74, a resident of Honoraville, died on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at Jackson Hospital. The funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Walnut Street Church of Christ with Minister Charles Box and Minister Dennis Sanders officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial followed at Cauthen Cemetery in Highland Home. Visitation was held an hour prior to the service.

Hilda was a devoted wife and mother, who loved all her family dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles James and Mary Cross McCormick. She leaves cherished wonderful memories to her loving husband, Homer Cauthen; daughters, Sandra (Allen) Croley of Columbus, Ga., and Sara (David) Burkett of Georgiana,; son, Allen Cauthen (Dawn Jarzyniecki) of Honoraville; grandchildren, Bryant (Aimee) Croley, Matthew and James Burkett and Wyatt and Garrett Fullington; great-grandchildren, Frankie and Samantha Croley; sisters, Jean McNaughton, Peggy (Allen) Bass, Deborah (Scottie) Tindal; brother, Charles (Brenda) McCormick and numerous nieces and nephews. Constance W. Little

 

Constance W. Little, 76, a resident of Greenville, died on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at L.V. Stabler Hospital. The family received friends Monday, February 16, 2015 from 6 until 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Greenville. Mrs. Little was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Little. She is survived by her daughters, Pamella Filippone (Charles) of Hendersonville, N.C. and Resa S. Lakes (Howard) of Greenville; son, Keith Stonestreet (Melanie) of Honoraville; grandchildren, Jason Duncan and Van Speir and three great-grandchildren. Frances Elvira McCrory

 

Frances Elvira McCrory, 91, a resident of Selma and formerly of Greenville, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Southland Nursing Home in Marion.  A graveside service will be Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Mike Phillips officiating and Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home of Greenville directing.  There will be no public visitation.

Elvira is one of five children born to John A. and Frances Adams McCrory. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Dr. John Adams McCrory and Dr. Vastine Stabler McCrory.

She is survived by her sisters, Anne McCrory Hopkins of Millbrook and Jane McCrory Phillips of Oak Hill; sisters-in-law, Jean McCrory of Gordon, N.E., and June McCrory of Albertville; and many nieces and nephews.

McCrory was born in Greenville on Feb. 21, 1923 and graduated from Greenville High School in 1940.  After high school she enrolled in Alabama College at Montevallo and graduated in 1944 with a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Nebraska and studied at the Julliard School of Music in New York.

For many years Elvira taught music in the elementary schools of the Selma City School system. She also shared her musical talent by playing violin in the Montgomery Symphony, working with children’s choirs and singing in the adult choir at the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. I.V. Powell

 

I.V. Powell, 69, a resident of Fort Deposit, died on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at his home. A graveside service will be Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Herbert Brown officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 from 3 until 4 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, Manley and Maline Powell; siblings, Hoover Powell, Cecil Powell, Jim Powell and Hazel Minor. He is survived by his sisters, Myrlean Hitson of Fort Deposit and Betty Irvin (Ben) of Montgomery; brothers, Bill Powell (Janice) of Millbrook, Monroe Powell (Pearl) of Millbrook and Eligh-Hugh Powell (Barbara) of Jonesboro, Ariz.; several nieces, nephews, and beloved pet “Pooh.” Pallbearers will be Johnny Petterson, David Powell, Paul Powell, Billy Powell, Waylon Powell and Allen Powell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Walter Nolan, Thomas Nolan, Clay Nolan, Daniel Nolan and Wade Nolan. We as the family of I.V. Robert Allen Warner

 

Robert Allen Warner, 50, a resident of Greenville, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at his residence.  A memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home of Greenville.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
