Celebrate America set for July 4

The City of Greenville and the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce will once again host Celebrate America on July 4 at Tiger Stadium.

The event will feature face painting, arts and crafts vendors, concessions and more.

Entertainment will be provided by WBAM’s “Dr. Sam.”

Those in attendance can cool off by sliding down a waterslide provided by Air Jumpz. The cost is $3.

This year, the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce will also be selling T-shirts for $10.

The highlight of the event will once again be the fireworks show, which is slated to begin at 9 p.m.

“We are always so excited about the Fourth of July,” said Francine Watson, executive director of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce. “It’s great to see the community all together and having such a fun time.”

Wasden thanked the City of Greenville and the many sponsors that help make the event possible each year.

“We’re so thankful for all of our sponsors this year, and we are still accepting sponsors too,” said Wadsen.

Along with the City of Greenville, this year’s sponsors include the Butler County Commission, South Alabama Home Builders, Stephens Chiropractic, Coastal Forest Products, First Citizens Bank, The Housing Authority of Greenville, Hysco America, Hwashin America, Gardner Eye Care, Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home, Trustmark Bank, Community Neighbor Bank and Eric Cates.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
