A new grocery step in Evergreen will be one step closer to reality on Thursday.

Officials have announced that a groundbreaking ceremony will be held for Food Depot, which will be located at the Liberty Hill Development.

The store is owned by Super Food’s Supermarkets, which also owns and operates Super Foods in Greenville.

Chief Operating Officer John Wilson is expected to be on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony, which will be held at 10 a.m.

Currently there is just one grocery store services Evergreen’s community.

Food Depot is expected to open in early July.
