Police were called to Old Mexico Saturday morning after a restaurant employee discovered a dead body in a truck parked in the parking lot.

After arriving on the scene, authorities found a man, whose identity has not yet been released by the Greenville Police Department, and a .22 caliber rifle in the rear seat of a crew cab Toyota Tacoma. According to restaurant employees, the truck has been parked in a corner spot of the lot since Tuesday.

“We’re conducting a death investigation, which includes a possible criminal aspect, but right now the initial investigation is pointing to suicide,” Lt. Justin Lovvorn of the Greenville Police Department said. “Until we know that for sure, after we receive the autopsy, we’ll treat this as a criminal act and follow anything we get from the evidence we’ve collected at the scene.”
