Lowndes Academy dealt Fort Dale Academy its first loss of the 2014 season on Tuesday.

Just one day after the Eagles swept South Montgomery County Academy in a doubleheader to open the season, the Rebels topped the Eagles 11-6.

“We didn’t play very well,” said Fort Dale Academy head coach Josh Beverly.

James Burkett led the Eagles’ offensive charge with a 3-for-4 effort that included two doubles and an RBI.

Brady Clark was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and Drake Cabe and Austin Vickery were each 1-for-3.

Cabe had a triple and Vickery knocked in a run.

Fort Dale (2-1) will be back in action today when it plays host to Eastwood Christian School and Hooper Academy. The Eagles are scheduled to play at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
