FDA trounces Morgan, Monroe

A 20-point first period sparked Fort Dale Academy to a 45-26 win over Monroe Academy Thursday night in Greenville.

With the win, the Lady Eagles improved to 8-7 overall and 2-0 in area play.

The Lady Eagles never trailed in the contest, and led by as many as 25 points at one point.

Mary Sanford Perdue led the charge for Fort Dale with 12 points.

Hannah Johnson added 10 points and eight rebounds, and Nedra Toulmin Crosby and Ashton Scott scored eight points and six points, respectively.

AnJoy Castleberry dished out six assists and recorded five steals in the win.

The victory came on the heels of a dominant 60-22 win over Morgan Academy on Tuesday that saw the Lady Eagles lead by as many as 46 points heading into the fourth period.

Fort Dale held the Lady Senators to just 21.1 percent shooting and forced 27 turnovers.

Crosby and Laura Sellers Perdue led the Fort Dale offense with 10 points each.

Laura Sellers Perdue connected on 5-of-9 attempts from the field and yanked down eight rebounds, while Crosby hit 5-of-7 attempts.

Scott scored eight points and Castleberry, Johnson, Mary Sanford Perdue, Caitlyn Jarman each scored six points in the win.
