The City of Greenville and the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce will usher in the Christmas season on Dec. 5 with its annual Christmas parade.

Floats, marching bands and even jolly ol’ Saint Nick himself, will make their way from Bolling Street down Commerce Street to the Butler County Courthouse.

The theme for this year’s parade is “Christmas in Hollywood.”

“We’d really love for everyone to come out and be a part of it,” Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Francine Wasden said. “It’s such a wonderful community event.”

The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

The deadline to register to march or enter a float in the parade is Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The Chamber of Commerce is also holding its second annual Christmas light contest.

Categories for the contest include: best overall residential, best overall business, Santa’s favorite, most colorful, most creative and most elegant.

Those wishing to enter should contact the Chamber of Commerce by Dec. 11. Judging will be held the night of Dec. 12.
