Glenwood beats CCA

CCA wrapped up its season Friday night with a 49-34 loss to Glenwood Academy.

Glenwood got the game underway with a touchdown run and went up 6-0 at 5:55 left in the first quarter.

The next score was made by CCA on a pass to Dalton Weeks that tied the game 6 all with 4:11 left in the first quarter.

The Gators scored again before the first quarter ended going up 13-6, but the Cougars rallied to the challenge. Gavin Mckenzie took a handoff 10 yards for the TD and Collin Holloway made the two point conversion for the go ahead score 14-13 and the clock at 11:52 left in the second quarter.

The Gators soon put another TD on the board,completing the two point conversion gave the lead back to them at 21-14.

After the kickoff Mckenzie scored from 59 yards out and with a missed PAT the score was 21-20.

Glenwood turned around and scored again going up 28-20 with 8:00 left in the first half. Holloway took the ball in from the 3 – yard line for CCA and score was 28-26 as the half comes to an end.

The third quarter clicked down to 7:30 before the Gators scored a TD and extra point that made it 35-26. Glenwood got the ball back on downs and scored going up 42- 26. Preston Worley for Crenshaw scored the next touchdown and the two point conversion by Gavin Mckenzie was good making the score 42-34 with 10:06 left in the game. On their next possession Glenwood ran the ball down the field to score the last touchdown of the game and made the PAT. The final score 49-34 Glenwood Academy.
