Pioneer Electric Cooperative will hold its annual business meeting on Saturday at the Butler County Fairgrounds.

The business meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. Attendees will hear reports regarding Pioneer’s activities during the past year from Executive Vice President and General Manager Terry Moseley. They will also learn the results of the board election and a proposed bylaw amendment. Two candidates, incumbent Carey Thompson and Harold “Tommy” Anderson, are running for the co-op’s District 2 seat. Dave Lyon of District 5 and Linda Arnold of District 8 are both unopposed in the election.

Cooperative members can cast their vote in the election beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Co-op officials say there are also family-friendly activities scheduled in conjunction with the business meeting, such as rides in the Touchstone Energy hot air balloon.

All members registering prior to 10:30 a.m. at the meeting will have a chance to win door prizes such as a free year of electricity valued at $2,232 and one of 10 $75 electric bill credits.

“This is an event we look forward to every year,” Mosely said. “Our annual meeting allows co-op employees to connect with members and talk to them about what’s happening in the energy world. Plus, members look forward to getting a chance to win a free year of electricity.”
