Fort Dale routs Pike Liberal, GMS falls to Andalusia

Fort Dale Academy quarterback Luke Taylor threw for three touchdowns to help power the Eagles to a 34-14 win over Pike Liberal Arts School in junior varsity action Tuesday night.

Taylor completed 8-of-13 pass attempts for 175 yards.

“We had a good game against Pike,” Taylor said. “Their team was pretty big, but we all came together and played the way we were supposed to and finished with a win.”

Clay Mansman hauled in three of Taylor’s passes, including two for touchdowns.

Andrew Salter caught two passes. He also scored two touchdowns, one of which came on a 34-yard pass from Taylor.

Zach Winters led the Fort Dale ground attack with 71 yards. He also rushed for a 50-yard score.

Mansman paced the Eagle defense with seven tackles and two interceptions.

Fort Dale (2-1) will be back in action Tuesday when it travels to Hope Hull to take on Hooper Academy. Junior varsity action will start at 7 p.m.

 

GMS falls to Andalusia

 

Greenville Middle School fell to (0-1) on the season with a 28-0 loss to Andalusia Middle School in Andalusia.

“We were outplayed and outcoached,” GMS head coach Daniel Ingram said.

The Tigers will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Troy to take on Charles Henderson Middle School.

Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
