Judith Brown Youngblood

Judith Brown Youngblood, 72, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, following a long, bravely fought battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, May Blanche Stallings Brown and Fred Richard Brown; a brother, Fred Richard Brown, Jr.; and her husbands, Staff Sgt. George H. Beasley, U.S. Marine Corps, and Thomas Milford Youngblood.

She is survived by her son, Steven E. S. Beasley (Katie) of Tallassee; two stepsons, Thomas Milford Youngblood, Jr. (Lisa) of Montgomery and Stephen Kirk Youngblood (Kimberly) of Holtville; one step-daughter, Catherine Lynn Youngblood of Montgomery; two sisters, Frieda B. Cross (Cecil) of Fort Deposit and Elizabeth B. Harris (Don) of Montgomery; two brothers, Ralph Michael Brown (Anita) of San Destin, Fla., and William R. Brown (Peggy) of Greenville; one sister-in-law, Lois Flowers Youngblood of Birmingham, Ala.; two granddaughters, Victoria Frances Beasley of Tallassee and Elizabeth Ashley Navarre of Tallassee; three grandsons, Stephen Kirk Youngblood, Jr. (Rachael) of Montgomery; Christopher Michael Youngblood of Montgomery and Thomas Milford Youngblood, III of Montgomery; four great-grandchildren, Kensley Elaine Navarre,

Karley Jean Navarre, Tony Ray Navarre and Stephen Kirk Youngblood, III; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Youngblood was a long time member of Dalraida Baptist Church where she attended Hank Henderson’s Sunday School Class and taught the 5 year old Sunday School Class.

She was a member and past president of the Montgomery Federation of Garden Clubs, a member and past president of the Empress Garden Club and a member and past president of National Judges Council District 6. She was founder of the Old Alabama Herb Society and designed and created the Herb Gardens at Old Alabama Town. She was a member of the Herb Society of America and a Member of Master Gardener Capitol City Club.

Mrs. Youngblood was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and member of the community. She will be sorely missed among the living but is now resting peacefully in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Visitation for family will be at 4 p.m. and for friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Leak Memory Funeral Home, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at Dalraida Baptist Church, 3838 Wares Ferry Road in Montgomery. Mrs. Youngblood will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.

The service will be conducted by Rev. Rick Evans, Pastor at Dalraida Baptist Church and Rev. Rick Dorley, Pastor at West Side Baptist Church in Tallassee. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery with Leak Memory Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Youngblood, Christopher Youngblood, Tommy Youngblood, Trey Cross, Tyler Perry, Devin Perry, Harris Long and Jeff Branch.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hank Henderson and members of his Sunday School Class, Dr. Sheldon Finkle, Greg McClellan, Andrew Beasley, Josh Brown, Mike Brown, John Carroll and LaTrelle Brown.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to your favorite charity.
