On Aug. 13, officers responded to a call for help at an apartment complex on Park Street at about 9:15 a.m. and made contact with two victims. The first victim relayed that two black males entered his apartment armed with a dark-colored handgun. They took property and cash from the first victim, then entered a neighboring apartment. The second victim said the men then fled the apartment when they saw him.

The suspects were picked up by a woman driving what appeared to be a late 90s Dodge Dakota pick-up truck that was black on top and gray on bottom.

The vehicle was reported last seen in the area of South Brundidge Street and University Avenue.

The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office was able to give detectives information about the vehicle used to flee the scene. The Sheriff’s Office and TPD detectives were able to identify two subjects in connection with the vehicle. Detectives then obtained two felony warrants on the men.

Both men were processed and taken to the Pike County Jail on bonds of $70,000 each. TPD Chief Jimmy Ennis said he’d like to thank TPD detectives and the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office for the hard work done to solve this case.

Troy Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to call 566-0500, or the secret witness line at 566-5555.
