Mr. Thomas “Tom” Kendrick Coker, Jr., 79, a resident of Prattville, Ala., passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 15, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Tucker officiating. Tom retired after 31 years with the Montgomery Police Department. He also had served in the United States Army and was a mason and Shriner for over 55 years. He is survived by his wife, Joyce K. Coker of Prattville, Ala.; daughters, Teresa K. Bolton (Tom) of Selma, Ala.; Sandy Houston (Stephen) of Millbrook, Ala.; sons, Thomas “Buck” K. Coker III of Greenville, Ala., and Todd R. Coker (Denise) of Deatsville, Ala., seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15, from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AlaCare Hospice of Montgomery, AL.
