Funeral services for the late Mrs. Ella  Hawthorne (Tag) were held on March 6 at College Street Church of Christ. Bro. Bishnoo Rampersad officiated. Burial followed in Damascus Cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services directed. Mrs. Hawthorne leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter, Linda (Henry Thomas) Simpson; five grandchildren, Cosondra (Johneda) Simpson and Tiffany Redmond, of Greenville, Ala., Anthony Simpson, Sophia (David) Powell, and Demetrius Simpson, all of Indianapolis, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Linda (Tom) Hickman and a sister, Magnolia Brown,  both of Greenville, Ala; brother, Manuel (Elsie) Berry, three sisters-in-law, Nell Berry, both of Pittsburgh, Penn., Ethel McQueen and Ethel Cheatham both of Greenville, Ala.; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
