Alice Claire Newton Petty

Alice Claire Newton Petty, 78, a resident of Montgomery, Ala., was born on Nov. 21, 1934, and died on Sunday, March 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held today, Monday, March 4, at Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Burial will follow at Central Baptist Church Cemetery in the Central Community, Greenville, Ala. Pastor Rick Marshall of Eastern Hills Baptist Church will be officiating. She leaves to cherish her memories:  three sons, Glenn (Bobbi) Petty of Jacksonville, Fla., Jeff (Beth) Petty of Montgomery, Ala., and Stan (Felisha) Petty of Honoraville, Ala.; two sisters, Scottie (Wayne) Roper of Greenville, Ala., Sarah (Hollis) Lewis of Stockton, Ala.; brother Bob (Janelle) Newton of Greenville, Ala.; four grandsons, David, J.P., Michael (Becca) and Daniel Petty; step-granddaughter, Kimberly (Tony) Hancock of Acworth, Ga., several nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren and numerous other family members.  Pallbearers are J. P. Petty, David Petty, Michael Petty, Daniel Petty, Tony Hancock and Mark Newton.  Mrs. Petty is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Grady Lee Petty, parents Scott and Ruth (Hickman) Newton of Greenville, Ala.
