Crenshaw County Women for Christ, an interdenominational fellowship from Crenshaw and surrounding counties, will have its seventh annual women’s conference on Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., at South Luverne Baptist Church, on the Glenwood Highway in Luverne.

The theme for the conference is “Celebrate Life,” and Katherine Wolf will be the speaker.

She is a wife, mother, communicator, and survivor of a near-fatal brain stem stroke.

Born and raised in the Georgia, Katherine had an early passion for sharing her hope in the Lord, never imagining how her survival would tell that story years later.

After marrying Jay, her college sweetheart who grew up in Montgomery, they moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Katherine and Jay began to serve at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, leading the Marrieds Group, planning the women’s retreat, and leading a couples’ small group.

Their son James was born in 2007 and six months later, Katherine’s life nearly ended with a catastrophic stroke.

Miraculously, she survived and continues her recovery to this day.

One of Katherine’s favorite Bible verses is Psalm 27:13, “I would have despaired, unless I had believed I would see the goodness of God in the land of the living.”

Haley Spates, an enthusiastic and talented musician, will be the worship leader.

Spates, who has been singing in church since the age of 3 and leading worship since age 15, is a choral music teacher in the Shelby County school system.   She is a former Miss Shelby County, Miss Samford University, and Mrs. Alabama.

Haley’s life verse is Romans 8:28, “And we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God and have been called according to His purpose.”

“The day will be filled with music, inspiration, door prizes, opportunities for great fellowship, and a lot of laughter.  We look forward to seeing our friends from past conferences and newcomers,” says Debbie Roberts, a member of the steering committee.

Tickets are $15 and include a box lunch.  They are available at Trend Setter in Luverne, and a ticket order form is posted to the web site for Crenshaw County Women for Christ, www.crenshawcountywomenforchrist.com.
