Crenshaw County Probate Judge Jim Perdue was sworn in by the Honorable Jim Main of the Alabama Supreme Court with a ceremony last Friday afternoon.

The main courtroom was filled with people including District Judge Tom Sport, Circuit Judge Terri Lovell, Coosa County Probate Judge Terry Mitchell, Pike County Probate Judge Wes Allen, Elmore County Probate Judge John Enslen and other elected officials from around Crenshaw County.

Will Davis led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Rev. Mike Green of South Luverne Baptist Church gave the invocation.

Chief Clerk Selena Shepherd introduced the guests, and Sport introduced Main.

Main spoke briefly about the Constitution and George Washington’s famous addendum to the original oath of office, “So help me, God,” before administering the oath to Perdue.

Refreshments were served afterward.
