781st to return Friday

The Alabama Army National Guard’s 781st Transportation Company will return home Friday.
The unit, which is based out of Fort Deposit, deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in February of 2012.
Sgt. 1st Class Tom Wallace, administrator for the unit, said a welcome home ceremony for the unit will be held at the Fort Deposit Municipal Complex auditorium Friday at 11 a.m.
The 781st Transportation Company deployed nearly 120 Alabama National Guard soldiers to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The 781st provided transportation support to units throughout the area of operations.
The 781st previously supported combat operations for Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom as well as responding to numerous state domestic operations in times of need following natural disasters.
