No. 8 Georgiana School cruised to a 69-38 win over J.U. Blacksher Thursday night in Georgiana.

The Panthers were led by sophomore forward Travales Smith, who scored 14 points.

Freshman forward Richard Boggan and sophomore guard Tarien Crittenden each scored 11 points in the win.

“I’ve been pleased with the way our young guys are developing and playing early in the season,” Georgiana head coach Kirk Norris said. “They have adjusted well so far to the varsity level. They have, at times, played like freshmen and sophomores, but as long as they can keep improving and getting better, I feel like we have a chance to have a very good season.”

The Panthers (9-1) will be back in action Tuesday when they take on Straughn High School in Andalusia. B-team action starts at 4:30 p.m. with varsity action set to follow. There will be no varsity girls’ game.
