At least one church in south Crenshaw County was broken into over the weekend, authorities say.

Investigator Heath Truman of the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Department said that Weedville Baptist Church was broken into, but no official report has been filed with law enforcement.

“Whoever broke in went into the office and ransacked it,” Truman said.

However, Truman said that the church hasn’t reported anything missing or stolen.

A tip from a reader indicated that as many as six churches in the Weedville, Bullock and Friendship communities were broken into over the weekend, but Truman said the Sheriff’s Department hasn’t had any reports filed about the incidents.
