The 7th annual LBW Community College/Camellia City Classic raised more than $20,000 for the LBW Community College Foundation.

The event raises funds for scholarships, student activities and special projects on the Greenville campus.

“This money is so important because it is used for projects right here on our Greenville campus,” said Dr. Jim Krudop, director of LBW’s Greenville campus.

Krudop praised the community’s support of the tournament, which was played at Cambrian Ridge on Wednesday.

“We had a wonderful turnout for the tournament and the sponsor luncheon we held prior to the start of the tournament,” he said. “Seeing the community come out and support the college and our students is part of what makes this tournament so special each year.”

Forty golfers took part in the tournament, which was played in a four-person scramble format. The team of Joby Norman, Todd Norman, Al Brannon and Mark Landers won the event with a score of 47.9.
