Hunters Night Out set for ThursdayPublished 3:26pm Friday, September 7, 2012
Area hunters will have the chance to sharpen their skills ahead of the upcoming deer season thanks to the second annual Hunters Night Out.
The event, which is sponsored by Greenville’s Quality Cooperative, is scheduled for Thursday night and will feature a free seminar on hunting the rut, which will be conducted by Kevin Matthews from Top Secret Deer Scents.
“He’s well-known across the country,” said Ryan Williams, manager of Quality Cooperative. “This is the first time we’ve had a seminar like this, and we think it’s going to be something that benefits hunters in our area.”
The event will also include an archery tournament for adults, as well as a free archery shoot for children. The entry fee for the archery tournament is $10 in advance and $20 the night of the tournament.
The winner will receive a 20-quart Yeti cooler and a Moultrie 30-gallon tripod feeder.
The event will also feature hunting vendors and discounted prices on tree stands, fertilizer, food plot seeds and more. Prizes such as a half-day quail hunt for four to AGRI B Plantation, a Savage Axis .07 MM-08 with a scope, a Remington Model 770, a .270 with a scope and a 45-quart Yeti cooler will be raffled off. Prices are $5 for a single ticket and $20 for five tickets.
Door prizes will also be given out throughout the night.
The event begins at 4 p.m. and will end at 7 p.m. It will be held at the Quality Cooperative, which is located at 485 Greenville Bypass.
