Camellia Communications awarded Fort Dale Academy graduate LeeAnne Whigham with a $1,000 scholarship.slid

Each year, Camellia Communications awards a graduating high school senior with the Mr. and Mrs. Howard S. Powell Scholarship.

Since the scholarship’s inception in 2006, Camellia Communications has awarded $35,250 in scholarships to worthy seniors who live within their service area.

The selection of the scholar is based on a number of factors with a special emphasis on each individual’s character, personal merit and background. Merit is demonstrated in a variety of ways: leadership in school, civic and other extracurricular activities; academic achievement and motivation to serve and succeed in all endeavors.

Whigham will be attending Mississippi State University.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marty Whigham of Greenville.
