An effort to get the new school year off to a prayerful start comes this weekend.

The Butler County Ministerial Association is hosting prayer walks this Friday and Sunday at the county’s schools.

Greenville Middle School will hold their prayer walk at noon on Friday, August 12, with all other prayer walks scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 14. A member of the ministerial association will be in front of each school to lead the event.

“We want to put first things first. Let’s get the school year started off right by praying for our schools,” said BCMA president Allen Stephenson.

“We want to pray for students, teachers, and all those involved in making school possible, including administrators, coaches, aides, cafeteria workers, bus drivers — everyone who has an impact on the school day. We believe we can make a difference through our prayers.

“And our superintendent and administrators have been very supportive of this effort.”
