WILMINGTON, N.C.-Elizabeth Jones Gentry died Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the Commons of Brightmore in Wilmington, N.C. She was formerly of Greenville.

Mrs. Gentry was born November 29, 1917 in Greenville, of the late Robert Ellery Jones, Sr. and Drucilla Victoria McQueen Jones. Her husband was the late George Daniel Gentry, Jr. of Greenville. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include daughters Elizabeth Ann Powell and husband Andrew J. Powell, Jr. of Wilmington, NC, and Virginia Gayle Cicatiello and husband Frank A. Cicatiello of Tuscaloosa.

Her grandchildren are Dawn Elizabeth Lowder and husband Henry Lowder of Raleigh, NC, Andrew J. Powell, III of Little River, SC, Dianne Powell Jones and husband Rodney John Jones of Raleigh, NC, and Lauren Elizabeth Cicatiello of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Step grandchildren are Holly Cicatiello Collins and husband Jason of Destin, Fla., Rocky Cicatiello and wife Jessica of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Jamie B. Cicatiello of Destin, Fla.. Great grandchildren are Elizabeth Ann Lowder, William Collins Lowder, Andrew J. Powell, IV, Ashley Ann Powell, Meredith Ann Jones and John Anthony "A.J." Jones, all of Raleigh, NC.

A graveside service will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Magnolia Cemetery by the Rev. Joe Lisenby. The family received friends, prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home in Greenville.
